Guardian Ad Litem

In Georgia, a Guardian ad Litem (GAL) is a court-appointed representative, often an attorney, who investigates and makes recommendations on the best interests of children in various legal proceedings, such as custody disputes or child abuse and neglect cases. The GAL is a neutral party who gathers information by reviewing records, visiting homes, and interacting with the child and family to provide their unbiased findings to the judge, who then makes the final decision.

Amy is a Certified Guardian Ad-Litem whose long-term employment with the Superior Court of Georgia gives her expansive knowledge and understanding of what the Courts want to see with a Guardian’s recommendation, while putting the children first and carefully considering their desires to be the utmost importance.

While a Guardian in most cases is appointed by the Court, parties may agree on a Guardian prior to Court.
